Monica Belton received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. Monica is a Licensed Masters Degree Social Worker and has been working with children and families for twenty-one years. She has been a social worker with several organizations in North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Virginia. Monica is also a Certified Trauma and Resilience Professional. Ms. Belton is an advocate and activist for equity, social justice, and mental health awareness. She serves as a board member of PBS Newshour Extra and has been featured on topics involving mental health, suicide prevention, and addressing race in schools. Ms. Belton is certified in several evidenced based intervention programs and practices expertise in social emotional learning, substance abuse prevention, Restorative Practices, Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports, and ACE’s Interface, as well as a trainer for Sources of Strength.
